MTEQ is seeking a trained Electronics Assembler to assist in our Kilmarnock, VA location. The successful applicant will be responsible for assembly and verification of printed circuit board (PCBs) assemblies, ensuring that products are manufactured to customer's specifications and quality standards.

The preferred candidate will have working experience in a manufacturing, production assembly, inventory or warehouse environment, familiar with good safety practices, able to follow complex processes/ procedures, operate assembly-process equipment.


+ Able to read, understand and assemble a variety of products according to assembly procedures, drawings and bill-of-material, understand how to reference and comply with standards in IPC-610 & J-Standard-001 manuals.

+ Able to identify and select/sort electronic components and sub-assemblies.

+ Prepare components for install on PCBs (form and trim leads, solder prep, label/mark).

+ Assemble components onto circuit cards.

+ Perform hand-soldering, and able to learn to safely operate and maintain wave-solder and cleaning machines.

+ If needed, remove and re-install components using de-soldering/soldering tools.

+ Able and willing to perform work requiring use of microscope.

+ Be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, able to perform simple shop math.

+ Maintain work areas neat and organized, records complete and accurate.

+ Must have good written and oral communication skills.

+ Will perform other duties, projects, responsibilities as assigned.

+ At all times comply with appropriate safety protocols and company policies.

Education Requirements:

+ HS diploma/GED required.


+ 1 - 4 years of related experience.

+ Excellent technical writing, documentation and communication skills.

+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, in particular Excel).

+ IPC-610 & J-Standard knowledge

Physical Demands:

+ Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.

+ Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.

Job duties are performed in a manufacturing/office environment utilizing standard office equipment such as a computer, photocopier, and telephone as well as manufacturing assembly machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Working hours: M-F from 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m.
