Plans, organizes, and implements clinical documentation integrity functions for BHMC. Provide supervision of all the Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (CDIS). Coordinate and support ongoing problem solving. Assist in establishing tools, processes, and systems to optimize clinical documentation integrity specialist's role.

MSN



Experience:

5 years clinical acute care experience

3 years supervisory and/or management experience in health-related field

3 years' experience in clinical documentation improvement/ coding

Supervision and/or management experience in Utilization Review, Care/Case Management, Health Information Management



Computer/Software Knowledge:

Basic keyboarding skills with basic skills in MS Word, or similar application

Working knowledge of MS Word, Lotus Notes, and Clinical data base software (ie, InterQual), 3M/360 Computerized Coding



Licensure/Certification

RN, current DE license

Must complete certification for Certified Coding Specialist or Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist within 12 months

Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist and/or Certified Coding Specialist



Special Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

Knowledgeable of federal, state, and local disposition resources and regulations for referral and/or placement. Adept at public speaking and facilitating groups/committees/teams.

Able to develop grant proposals and/or business plans for new services as needed.

Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English

Strong concentration skills. Ability to sustain concentration to a task over an extended period of time. Skill and proficiency in applying Quality, or case management criteria.

Efficiency in processing information, either written or verbal. Able to attend to and process multiple bits of information simultaneously.

Autonomy of thought. Ability to collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and take action as appropriate.

Ability to perform under stress when confronted with emergency or critical situations.

Ability to perform a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of varied nature without loss of efficiency or effectiveness.

Ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely to present ideas, facts, and clinical information.

Ability to maintain relationships that facilitate task accomplishment, to cooperate and resolve conflicts, to recognize needs and be sensitive to others.
